KEY CONCEPTS IN PAIN

The goal of this 90 minute online course is to provide a summary of key concepts in pain science.

Our understanding of pain has grown in leaps and bounds in the last decades.  With ongoing research, concepts that were known 2 decades ago have been found to be more complex than previously understood.   Experts agree that as we unravel the marvels of our CNS and pain, these concepts will become even more complex.
Butler and Moseley’s latest offering (“Explain Pain Supercharged”) stresses the importance of our understanding of pain science as healthcare providers.
They comment that our knowledge base is like an iceberg – the tip of the iceberg is the amount of information the patients need to understand.
Our knowledge and understanding needs to be much larger, similar to the part of the iceberg that is below water.
The course includes assessment tools, a course manual, ongoing access to the course on line and a reference list.
